Every bride wants to look beautiful, feel beautiful and be beautiful on her wedding day. But the truth is, many brides feel more like Bridezilla than Cinderella by the time she walks down the aisle. All the details, the emotions, the tensions and the attention, it's enough to make a bride 'blue.' How does a bride get through her big day and actually enjoy it?
May I suggest that for this day of all days, she concentrate on herself - instead of everyone else. Throughout the stages of planning a wedding (the average planning time is 13 months) brides and grooms spend countless hours discussing ways to take care of their guests without discussing how to take care of themselves. This is especially true for the bride since most of the responsibility lands on her 'headpiece.' If you are a bride, (or know someone who is) ask when was the last time you had a massage or took the time to have a facial. Even if you normally have a dedicated beauty routine chances are your routine has gone haywire while you are wired to the phone making preparations. So how does a bride conquer the bridezilla blues? Here are five simple rules to follow that will ensure you are the beauty of your ball.
- Don't be the director of your own wedding. Hire a wedding professional (if just for the day) to take care of last minute details, dilemmas, and directions.
- Treat yourself to a relaxing aromatherapy bath while you meditate on the memorable day ahead of you. Faceworks has as many fragrant baths as there are brides in June - so choose your favorite.
- Have your hair and makeup professionally done. By now you have had a trial appointment and feel comfortable with your stylist and artist. This is not the time to experiment so stick with what works.
- Have your manicure done the day before your wedding. Your pedicure, waxing, facial, etc. should be done at least a week before your big day.
- Be sure to eat something during the day. You will have very little time to eat at your wedding and if so, you won't enjoy it. Eat - so you don't pass out or become a champagne bubble bride.
'Bridal Beauti Makeup Touch-up Kit' | Here's a hint about makeup. The new Spring makeup colors may look lovely on you, but before you decide to wear this season's shimmering pink crystalline confections make sure these colors photograph well. Remember, after the wedding, what's left is memories and photographs so be careful not to be too trendy. TIP: If you are unsure about makeup that is camera friendly be sure to get a Bridal Beauti Makeup Touch-up Kit. The kit is simple, compact, and keeps you fresh, flawless and photo-perfect throughout your entire wedding. These kits also make terrific gifts for bridesmaids, moms and are a 'must have' for your honeymoon.
The more you plan, the more you want your wedding day to be simple and elegant. Concentrate on feeling beautiful and you will be beautiful. Everything you have done up to now is for your guests, but your wedding day is for you. Your gown, your hair, your veil, your makeup, your smile - instead of walking down the aisle, you will float!
