Mequeda was working in the beauty service field as an inspiring hairstylist. She researched the requirements to become a licensed professional, and became frustrated with the limited options available for licensed professionals to make a profit. During her research she noticed that the cosmetology field required workers to pay 50% or more of their profits earned. Mequeda wanted to be able to create a way for professional beauty technicians to keep 100% profits earned and still gain exposure. Her vision was to have technicians being represented by a company enabling technicians to keep 100% of their profits earned, without having technicians build clientele on their own. Mequeda realized that not only did technicians have limited options, but their clientele also. Mequeda envisioned technicians providing home beauty services to fulfill the need of more options being available not only to technicians but their clientele.
